Starting Wage:  $15.45

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for maintaining Feed Mill facility, office area, shower facility and break area in clean orderly condition including laundry. Maintains outside area including using mowers, weed eaters, tractor operation. May serve as a backup for any non-DOT mill team members who are on vacation and/or absent.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be willing to obtain a forklift certification.  Specialized equipment training (tractor and lawn mower) will be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains floors, work surfaces in Feed Mill facility including office, shower, and break areas daily. (40%)
• Grounds keeping of the feed mill; mowing, weed eating and snow removal. (40%)
• Serves as floater for non-DOT mill personnel for absences and vacations. (10%)
• Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.  Such as:  Cleaning assigned “clean” areas within the feed mill. (10%)

Biosecurity Requirements:

• The jobsite is a bio-secure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity Guidelines

Physical Demands and Work Environment 

• Physical:  Must use safe lifting techniques.  Must regularly lift, up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift, up to 60 pounds. Will occasionally be required to ascend/descend a caged ladder 197 feet high.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus. Must have good communication skills to accurately convey opinions and concerns.
• Tools and Equipment:

Environment:  Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and, also in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments.  Heavy exposure to corn and soy dust.

• Personal Protective Equipment Required:  Safety goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, and rubber boots are required.  Ear plugs will be used as needed.   NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed. 
• Chemicals Commonly Used:  Herbicides, Pesticides, and Disinfectants.

Safety: Will be trained to recognize and comply with all safety procedures.  

• All Team Members must be fully vaccinated against COVID 19
• Training will be provided to each Team Member specific to their job and their facility location in addition to signing an acknowledgement form they understand these expectations.  It is considered an essential function of each job for a Team Member to wear the company issued facial coverings.  If a Team Member indicates they will not wear the mask, they will not be considered for the position in which they are applying or any position that requires the facial covering.  If a Team Member has a medical condition or disability that prevents them from wearing the mask, Cobb will engage in an interactive process to determine whether a reasonable accommodation can be provided that addresses the safety concerns associated with the Pandemic and allow the Team Member to perform the essential functions of the job.
• Qualified applicants must have at least 6 months of work experience with one employer over the past 3 years with no gaps in employment of over 6 months.  (Exceptions are made for layoffs, attending school, or the birth of a child)
• Candidates must reside within the current recruitment area to include the following counties: Greenwood, Newberry, Laurens, or Greenville.
