Requirements:

Minimum and Additional Requirements
Must have five years experience and an associate degree, or five years experience and certifications in the field of welding. Must be proficient in SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW processes on plate pipe and structural steel. Must have in-depth knowledge of the welding trade and have the ability to effectively share this knowledge with others.
 

Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience, especially at the community and technical college or secondary level.

Job Description:

In order to build an active pool of qualified applicants, Piedmont Technical College is accepting applications for adjunct faculty (temporary, part-time) to teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or our six county centers in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick during the day/evenings, on-line and dual credit instructors to teach at high schools. Applications will be reviewed on an as needed basis. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching varying schedules to a diverse student body in accordance with the established syllabi, at a variety of locations, utilizing technology, and using a variety of teaching methods in instruction.

Plan, manage, and teach in accordance with established syllabi to a diverse student body. Follow all EPA & OSHA rules that pertain to the program. Participate in college functions as needed. Apply teaching practices and activities in pursuit of continuous improvement of the program and the college. Render professional service as a team player for the good of the college, the division/ department, and support the college's mission and vision while performing duties with the highest quality of service.

Schedule:
Willingness to work within a flexible teaching schedule (i.e. day, evening) and at different sites (i.e. on-campus, off campus) and in distance learning formats.
