"AI Literacy for K-12 Teachers Teachers are already stretched thin by lesson planning, grading, differentiation, and family communication, and and AI can give real time back, time you can spend where it matters most: with your students. This four-week certificate gives teachers the actual tools and systems to make that happen. You'll learn how to direct AI to produce reliable lesson plans and materials, how to use it to read student data and differentiate instruction, how to evaluate the growing field of AI tools built specifically for education, and how to build all of it into a repeatable system that fits inside an already full school day. This isn't about theory. You'll leave with a working AI system built for your own classroom workload. Offered through Piedmont Technical College in partnership with EmpowerED AI Learning. Aligned with the U.S. Department of Labor AI Literacy Framework. Learning Outcomes - Map lesson planning, grading, and communication workflows to find exactly where AI gives them time back for direct student interaction - Identify your school or district's existing AI polices and procedures so you know exactly what's permitted before you build anything - Build AI-assisted lesson plans, rubrics, and differentiated materials for your grade level and subject. Use student data to direct AI toward specific, targeted differentiation rather than generic output - Evaluate education-specific AI tools and turn your outputs into precise, classroom-ready materials rather than generic starting points - Design a repeatable system for using AI across a full teaching week, not just one-off tasks - Deploy a classroom-ready AI assistant tailored to your subject and grade level Delivery Method This course is a live, virtual course. Sessions will also be recorded for participants to access after each live event. In order to receive a certificate, participants must attend the live virtual in-person sessions or complete the learning module content, and complete a final project and reflection. Enrollment ends a week before the first day of class."
