Student Wellness Counseling
Student Wellness Counseling exists to support students’ emotional well-being, academic persistence, and overall success while enrolled at Piedmont Technical College. Services are designed to provide short-term, solution-focused support, crisis assessment, and connection to appropriate community resources, as needed. Students can schedule an appointment in-person or virtually through Navigate.
- Appointment Scheduling
Navigate instructions:
- Log in to Pathway and click on Navigate on the right side of the page.
- Click on Appointments on the left.
- Then, click on Make an Appointment.
- Next, select Student Wellness Counseling
- Choose your Service
- Pick a date and click Find Available Time.
- Choose a Campus Location.
- On the right, select yourdesired appointment time.
- Review appointment details
- Choose How would you like to meet.
- Add any comments, select reminder preference, and click Schedule.
- Counseling Services Guidelines
- Counseling sessions are offered by appointment only, except in the case of a crisis.
- Scheduled sessions are 45 minutes in length.
- The typical course of counseling ranges from 3–6 sessions, depending on the student’s needs.
- Students who arrive 15 minutes or more after their scheduled appointment time may be asked to reschedule.
- Students are asked to call or email at least two hours in advance if they need to cancel an appointment.
- After three missed or rescheduled appointments, the counselor reserves the right to cancel ongoing appointments and discuss alternative options for future services.
- Statement of Confidentiality
Counseling Services adheres to applicable state and federal confidentiality laws, as well as the ethical standards of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and American Psychological Association (APA). Information shared in counseling sessions—whether in person or via telehealth—is kept confidential. Records related to counseling services are also maintained in a confidential manner. Confidential information may be disclosed without the student’s written consent only in the following circumstances:
- If there is imminent risk of harm to the student or others
- If there is suspected abuse or neglect of a minor or vulnerable adult
- If records are subpoenaed or otherwide required by court order or law
- If the counselor seeks professional consultation to provide the best possible care (client identity is protected whenever possible)
- Emergency and Immediate Support
There are several ways to get help during a mental health emergency. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please consider the following options:
- Life-threatening emergencies: Call 911, go to the nearest emergency room, or contact Campus Security at (864) 941-8000 immediately.
- Non-life-threatening emergencies during office hours: You may walk into the Student Success Center on the Greenwood Campus in building A, room 101. or schedule an urgent appointment. Please note that a counselor may be in session and unavailable immediately, but we will assist you as soon as possible.
- After hours or for immediate support: Call or text the National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988 (available 24/7).

If you ever feel unsafe or at risk, please seek help immediately using any of the above resources. Wellness Counseling is available during office hours to provide support and coordinate ongoing care following a crisis.
