Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field + 1 yr related work experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing, or processing of information in an information technology environment; or Associate's degree in computer science, computer technology, or related field + 3 yrs related work experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing, or processing of information in an information technology environment; or High School diploma + 5 yrs experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing, or processing of information in an information technology environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-Extensive knowledge and experience in the installation, configuration, upgrade, and repair of network services, data communication systems, structured cabling systems, computers, operation systems (Windows 7 and 8), Microsoft products, and voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) systems.

-Willing and able to cross-train other technical support personnel

-Ability to interface with management personnel, faculty, and staff

-Adaptable and willing to learn new technologies

-Ability to maintain accurate/up-to-date records

Job Description:

In this challenging role, you will support the Infrastructure Support Services department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following:

-Performs complex hardware repairs, upgrades, and installations on personal computers, peripherals, and printers. Maintains accurate up-to-date documentation on all services provided.

-Performs complex software repairs, upgrades, and installations on personal computers, peripherals, and printers. Maintains accurate up-to-date documentation on all services provided.

-Troubleshoots and repairs complex problems with network and telephone cabling systems/connections. In addition, fabricates custom cable assemblies for computer, network, and telephone communications equipment. Maintains accurate up-to-date documentation on all services performed.

-Consults with supervisor on computer, network, and telephone system problems. Consults with faculty and staff on the proper operation and care of their equipment.

-Performs on-call duties, as required, as a member of the Infrastructure Support Services team on-call rotation.

-Performs related duties, as required. Performs ongoing study and training to acquire knowledge and to stay current on developing technology.
