Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field + 1 yr experience in the modification and maintenance of system programs, the design and development of system software or the testing and debugging of system software; or Associate's degree in computer science, computer technology, or related field + 3 yrs experience in the modification and maintenance of system programs, the design and development of system software or the testing and debugging of system software.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -Knowledge of multiple programming languages
-Experience in the implementation of applications
-Ability to work with end-users and peers
-Experience in application development and programming
-Thorough working knowledge of Oracle/Sun hardware and the Solaris (UNIX) Operation system
-Ability to comprehend complex web-based network integration
-Ability to work competently with Microsoft Windows Server Systems.

Job Description:

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES In this challenging role, you will support the OIT department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following:
-Analytical: Consults with end-users for the purpose of designing and developing specifications, procedures, and forms involved in the identification, capture, processing, formatting, and dissemination of management information. Works with the OIT staff to integrate new software and/or hardware into the existing ERP system structure.
-Programming: Through the process of analyzing systems, specifications and procedures, writes, tests, debugs, documents, and implements moderate to complex computer programming and applications. Design, code, and implement programs to assist the programming staff in problem resolution or to integrate components into the operating system environment by providing valid working code samples.
-System Management: Sustains a working knowledge of operating systems concepts and functionality on Solaris / UNIX. Understands the procedure for installing and providing system integration and support for layered products. Provides operational assistance to the System Manager in backup and disaster recovery. Assists in the day-to-day monitoring of the production environment
of local databases and operating system.
-Technical Support: Work with the backup and recovery software and can provide technical support to the Infrastructure Support Services Team with that software or function in their behalf, as necessary. Has a thorough working knowledge of Disaster Recovery procedures for the core ERP system and ensures the integrity of the backup schedule, media, hardware, and stored/archived data.
-Performs other duties, as required.
