Wages/Salary: $30,000 – $35,000 annually
High School Diploma with a minimum of five years of relevant administrative experience preferably in a police setting. Must pass NCIC Inquiry Reaffirmation Test within 1 year of employment and remain certified to access SLED/FBI records. Proficient with computers and an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Software is required. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics. A valid driver's license and safe driving history. Ability to utilize NCIC and SLED database, Banner and AssureID software. Ability to effectively use a computer and other office equipment including telephone, radio equipment and emergency devices. Ability to type a minimum of 45 WPM. Attention to detail, excellent planning, organizing and time management skills. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality. Must be able to understand and interact with law enforcement practices and procedures and to keep accurate records. Ability to read and comprehend documents including reports, contracts, policies and regulations. Ability to perform work with positive attitude and in professional manner at all times. Ability to respond quickly in a multi-tasking environment with frequent interruptions.
Provide administrative support to the campus Police Department and to the Chief of Police. Maintain various office files for the Police Department, type reports and correspondence, provide telephone information to the University community. Create and issue IDs for the University community. Perform administrative duties for Chief of Police and provides statistical reports. Greet visitors to the University Police Department.
Occasionally may be required to work evenings or weekends.
