- Minimum and Additional Requirements

- A bachelor's degree in agricultural studies, business administration, marketing, or a related field and one year experience in marketing.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate a vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications

- At least one year Board management experience.
- Two or more years’ budget management experience.
- Familiarity/background in agriculture.
- Familiarity with checkoff organizations.
- Ability to accurately process assessments and remit accordingly.
- Meeting planning experience.

Do you have a passion for agriculture? Do you love connecting with farmers and ranchers? This position offers a unique opportunity for the right person! As the Agricultural Commodities Marketing Specialist for the Beef, Equine and Poultry industries, you would:
- Serve as Executive Director of the SC Beef Council to include developing, directing and coordinating the promotion/marketing activities such as trade shows, fairs, schools/institution events and social media campaigns.
- Manage the daily business activities of the SC Beef Council to include, but not limited to, developing an annual budget, planning and preparing financial reports, collecting assessments, and attending meetings/conferences.
- Serve as the liaison between the Cattleman's Beef Board, the National Cattlemen's Beef Association, the SC Cattleman's Association, Clemson University and other allied groups to promote the beef industry in SC.
- Assist in marketing for the equine industry in SC, represent SCDA at various stakeholder meetings, and serve as the point of contact for the Equine Emergency Preparedness plans.
- Serve as the liaison between the SC Horseman's Council, SC Farm Bureau Equine Committee, SC Quarter Horse Association, Clemson University, USDA and other equine industry stakeholders.
- Represent SCDA at poultry industry meetings/events and collaborate with Clemson University Livestock, USDA and the National Poultry Improvement Program.
- Plan and coordinate poultry industry meetings for SC.
- Assist with the promotion of commodities, agricultural market development and SCDA brands.
