Job Description:

Trains as inspector on road and bridge projects to include inspections, material sampling and testing. Under direction of the Resident Construction Engineer, inspects the placement of concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk, and other concrete roadway structures; assists with inspecting the placement of asphalt on the roadway; inspects the installation of drainage subbases on the roadway; performs inspection of miscellaneous roadway items; assists with all required sampling and testing of materials in accordance with specifications; reports pertinent information to supervisory personnel. Operates surveying equipment which includes EDM and
level. Maintains accurate and legible survey field notes. Performs duties of rodman or axman as necessary. Assists party chief with surveys associated with all phases of road and bridge construction. Maintains project records. Inputs daily work reports for work inspected on assigned projects. Performs EEO and wage regulation interviews. Assists with monitoring traffic control and erosion control plans utilized for roadway and bridge projects. Completes appropriate related forms. Performs miscellaneous field work as necessary. Performs general office duties. Assists in the preparation of final construction plans. Performs miscellaneous
office work as necessary.
