A high school diploma; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
Assists in the inspection of roadway and bridge construction projects. Inspection includes
clearing and grubbing, grading, drainage, placement and compaction of asphalt concrete mixes,
placement of bituminous surfacing, setting grades and line for bridge construction, calculating
bearing of piles, placements of reinforcing steel, and placement of concrete for structures.
Assists inspectors in maintaining records and preparing reports. Completes out daily construction
diaries. Assists inspectors in sampling and testing materials used in construction. Samples and
submits required samples to Research and Materials Lab. Performs various engineering
technician duties as required.
