Wages/Salary: $25,627.00 - $47,413.00 Annually
A high school diploma and two (2) years of experience that is directly related to the area of
employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources
Regulations.
Acts as inspector on road and bridge projects. Inspects the placement of concrete curb and
gutter, sidewalk, and other concrete roadway structures. Inspects the placement of asphalt on
the roadway. Inspects the installation of drainage sub bases on the roadway. Performs
inspection of miscellaneous roadway items. Performs required sampling and testing of materials
listed in the above duties. Reports pertinent information to supervisory personnel. Operates
survey equipment which includes EDM and level. Maintains accurate and legible survey field
notes. Performs duties of rodman or axman. Assists party chief with surveys associated with all
phases of road and bridge construction. Maintains project records. Enters daily work reports for
work inspected on assigned projects. Performs EEO and wage regulation interviews. Obtains and
maintains material certifications. Monitors traffic control and erosion control plans utilized for
road and bridge projects. Completes related forms and reports. Assists in project closeout
procedures. Prepares as built construction plans and other related duties necessary to closeout
projects.
