A high school diploma and two (2) years of experience that is directly related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.
Assists with the inspection and evaluation of bridges and culverts by following guidelines as mandated by FHWA. Edits this information to the inspection report and computer. Assists with the assembly and distribution of computed inspection reports. Operates vehicles and motorboats.
Operates the under bridge platform or snooper unit during under bridge inspections. Updates reports for bridge/culverts that have had an "A" or "B" flag properly repaired. Prepares time sheet, HMMS daily work reports, bridge deficiency reports, BAI reports. Updates pictures of new structures, damages to structures, update maps and inspection files. Updates bridge/culvert location and coordinates by going to each site and taking measurements using GPS. Records the
streamed profile by completing the stream/ground profile report. Performs other related job duties as assigned by supervisor.
