EXPERIENCE
6 months previous casting finishing experience or other relevant manufacturing experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Ability to understand drawings, standard work/job method instructions, and dimensions in standard or metric. Ability to work safely with power tools.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, flashes, eyestrain and sparks from saws and grinders. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to extreme heat while welding in hot weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
This position will be for a finishing department operator responsible for degating and blasting operations. Responsibilities will include but not limited to degating castings prior to or after blasting operations, loading/unloading table and tumble shot blasting machines, operating and performing operator-performed maintenance on shot blasting machines, inspecting parts in process to determine whether they can move forward in process or need to be dispositioned and trucking of parts.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are limited to:
- Degating with grinder, saw, hammer, wedge
- Operator-Performed-Maintenance (OPM) on equipment
- Table/Tumble blast machine operations
- In-Process inspection of parts
- Trucking parts as necessary
3rd shift- 7pm- 5:30am, Mon- Thurs
