Requirements:

A high school diploma and three (3) years of experience that is directly related to the area of
employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources
Regulations.
A valid motor Vehicle Operator's License.

Job Description:

Reviews, inspects, and recommends, for approval residential encroachment permits. Conducts field inspection for moderate level contracts such as roadway mowing, vegetation or tree
removal, and street sweeping where field measurements for payment are required. Researches
property data. Calculates preliminary estimates, quantities, for all maintenance contracts
performed in Greenwood County; including various herbicide applications, curb and gutter
sweeping, catch basin repair, railroad thermoplastic, pipe repair. Performs routine inspections of
roadways to include low/high shoulders, pavement markings, signs, potholes, ditches and other
roadway defects. Assists the utility inspector in making routine inspections for permitted projects.
Performs office tasks such as making/distributing copies of plans/data, picking up/delivering
necessary items, and file management. Assists maintenance forces during hazardous weather and
snow and ice conditions and other emergencies. Performs other related job duties as requested or
assigned by supervisor. Performs guardrail inspection and large diameter pipe inspection in
accordance with Director of Maintenance guidelines.
