A high school diploma; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
Trains and assists with the inspection of all phases of construction work, including pipe, curb and gutter installation, grading and base, drainage, catch basins, foundations, concrete, reclamation, and asphalt placement. Trains in all areas of construction including asphalt, concrete, earthwork, foundations, pavement preservation, and erosion control. Assists with taking construction measurements. Trains to calculate pay quantities including, areas, cubic
yards on excavation, asphalt rates, spread rates, and lengths. Computes grades as necessary. Assists with entering all construction notes and pay items into SiteManager as daily work reports. Assists with preliminary engineering work including stationing, staking, and cross slope. Trains to collect required construction samples according to SCDOT specifications. Performs other duties as assigned by RCE and ARCE.
