Requirements:

Education/Certification: Associate's degree from a technical school in a related field or 5 years experience in electrical / technical support work in an industrial environment; Valid state issued drivers license

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES, REQUIREMENTS, ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
Work safely and follow safety rules. Act to correct or report unsafe working conditions and behaviors.
Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.
Attend and complete Company required training.
Coordinate small to medium scope projects for electrical and automation improvements.
Assist maintenance planning and reliability maintenance with CMMS / Ivara system.
Investigate, design, and procure equipment and spare parts for root cause solutions to problematic equipment issues.
Solve problems, seek and identify opportunities, and implement solutions with limited input from others.
Respond to call out and trouble / repair calls.
Liaise with equipment suppliers to repair and maintain to OEM specifications and modify/retrofit equipment and systems for efficiency improvements with the manufacturing process.
Repair, replace, or modify electronic and electrical process control equipment.
Specialized or highly trained with the following equipment:
Control Logix programming, hardware, and firmware upgrades
RSLogix 5 programming, hardware, and firmware upgrades
RSNetworx for Devicenet, Controlnet, and Ethernet
RSLinx
Factory talk asset Centre
RSview 32 (old HMIs)
Factory Talk Studio and Client addition (New HMIs)
PLC5 to Controllogix conversions both hardware and software
Siemens S7 PLC software
Siemens Master Drives with vector and motion control
Some form of IT or computer networking from Cisco or Rockwell software and hardware components such as Stratix 8000, 5200, or 6000 switches
Powerflex drives 755, 753, 525, and 523 (Powerflex 700 are very similar so that would be okay)
Implement design changes on programmable controller and microprocessor based process control equipment.
Read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
Other duties as assigned.

EQUIPMENT USED:
Computer, scanner, printer, calculator, fax machine, copier, multi-line telephone system, databases, software programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint, CMMS.
Working Environment:
40% office environment, 60% mill environment.
Reading; basic mathematical computations; logical reasoning; problem solving; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress; ability to operate a motor vehicle in daytime and evening hours.

Job Description:

Primary Purpose / Function:

This position exists to provide skilled technical and engineering technical support to repair, maintenance, programming and refurbishment of Mill electrical system and automation projects.

The position will assist in the management of projects, coordination of work, and execution of work related to electrical maintenance, electrical engineering and automation.

The major emphasis is on analyzing and solving complex technical problems and identifying opportunities to continually improve the uptime, reliability, and performance of equipment.

Schedule:
The primary working hours are on the day shift. Evening and weekend work may be required. Schedules are subject to change pending business needs. Position is on call as scheduled.

Travel:
Some travel to technical training or other locations for projects with overnight stays comprise less than 15% of the job time.
