Job Description:

Eaton’s Power Distribution Control Assembly division is currently seeking an Electrical Drafter (Lead Designer) to join our team. This position is based at our Greenwood, SC facility.

 

The Electrical Drafter (Lead Designer) is responsible for preparing all necessary electrical drawings and Front-end Design including, but not limited to, three-line schematic and wiring diagrams for complex assemblies from customer specifications and information; perform a wide variety of activities requiring the application of more complex drafting codes (CAD) and related technical knowledge.  In this role, you will prepare complex layouts, circuit diagrams, sketches and drawings relating to new and modified equipment specifications, as well as from customer engineering interpretation to the general order (CAD).

  • You will interpret customer inquiries relating to assemblies, during the engineering and manufacturing phases.
  • You will develop special layout and sketches for engineering tests to work with the acceptance applications, operating characteristics, or performance of components of assemblies.
  • You will prepare necessary information to ensure efficient and timely material procurement, manufacturing testing, and installation of assemblies.
  • You will compile data required for project assignments and develop specifications, reports, and other related written documents as required.
  • You will maintain contact with manufacturing personnel to review and discuss diagrams, modifications, adjustments, and progress of work relating to the design and manufacture of equipment.
  • You will contact engineer to verify circuit operation or to suggest methods to correct errors.
  • You will be responsible for assisting and training new employees in all aspects of electrical drafting and testing; recommend technical methods or approaches for them in order to increase their overall quality, timeliness, and productivity.
