A bachelor's degree in engineering; or a bachelor's degree in engineering technology and two (2) years of related work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
Trains in all phases of construction work to include pipe, curb and gutter installation, grading and drainage inspection, and concrete and asphalt inspection. Takes measurements for quantities of grassing, concrete, asphalt, etc. Performs basic calculations on areas, earthwork quantities, and lengths of pavement markings. Computes necessary grades when needed. Obtains necessary construction samples. Duties include obtaining materials samples to be tested, filing out sample cards, and performing tests on concrete and earthwork. Trains in Site Manager to prepare site manager daily work reports and input pay items for monthly construction estimates. Trains in the use of survey equipment and software utilized for construction layout and contractor survey verification.
