Equipment Operator

Saluda County is now accepting applications for Equipment Operator.  Duties include but are not limited to:  operates a variety of equipment, including dump trucks, backhoes; track hoes, front end loader, maintains assigned vehicles and equipment; performs pre and post-op vehicle inspections; transports materials and equipment to and from work sites; flags traffic and installs control devices at work sites; maintains and repairs drainage systems; maintains dirt and gravel roads; removes debris; responds to after-hour emergencies and other related duties. Reports to Roads and Bridges Superintendent.  Knowledge of the techniques, equipment and supplies used in road maintenance; knowledge of county and departmental safety policies and procedures.  Knowledge of level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in field of work in addition to basic skills typically associated with high school education; possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Class A commercial driver’s license issued by the State of South Carolina.  A detailed job description is available at the Roads and Bridges Department  175 Public Safety Drive, Saluda, SC 29138.  Applications along with resume and ten year driving record may be submitted to Andrew T.
