A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A"
Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However,
applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified
applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.
Assists in the installation of driveways; using hand tools, hand tamp, placing aggregates,
removing mailboxes and reinstalling and helping place large sections of pipe. Trains to operate
tandem ten-wheel dump truck and training to operate 5 to 10 yard standard dump truck, and
flatbed truck for hauling materials such as asphalt, limestone, dirt, soil, cement, pipe,
construction materials and debris. Flags traffic during road repairs to control flow of traffic to
protect workers, general public and equipment. Performs other related job duties as requested or
assigned by supervisor. Assists with removing litter, debris and dead animals from roadway and
rights-of-way. Performs duties using manual labor, in such maintenance task as clearing of rightof-
ways, cleaning drainage ditches, repairing shoulders, patching potholes, making base repairs,
repairing bridges, paving driveways, and laying sideline/cross line pipe. Trains to operate a
standard dump truck with snow plow attachment, sand spreader, and/ or brine tanker to remove
snow and ice from highways and bridges. Conducts and documents pre-operation vehicle or
equipment inspection. Operates chain saw in the removal of trees from right-of-way.
