Wages/Salary: STATE SALARY RANGE: $17,656.00 - $32,667.00 Annually
A 10th grade education and one-half (1.5) years of related trades experience; or an approved
acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A"
Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However,
applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified
applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.
Assists in the replacement of missing and damaged signs, erects new signs, and repairs old signs.
Flags traffic during road repair to control flow of traffic to protect workers, general public and
equipment. Operates chain saw in cutting trees on right-of-way. Operates standard dump truck
with snow plow attachment and sand spreader to remove snow and ice from highways and
bridges. Performs other related duties as requested or assigned by supervisor. Removes litter,
debris and dead animals from roadway and rights-of-way. Assists with applying paint and
maintains traffic markings. Conducts and documents pre-operation vehicle or equipment
inspection. Operates and maintains electric/gas powered tools in various phases of roadway
maintenance.
