Requirements:

A 10th grade education; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human
Resources Regulations.
A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A"
Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However,
applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified
applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.

Job Description:

Performs duties using labor, in such maintenance task as clearing of right-of-ways, cleaning
drainage ditches, repairing shoulders, patching potholes, making base repairs, repairing bridges,
paving driveways, and laying sideline/cross line pipe. Flags traffic during road repairs to control
flow of traffic to protect workers, general public and equipment. Trains in the operation of tandem
ten-wheel dump truck, standard dump truck, and flatbed truck for hauling materials such as
asphalt, limestone, dirt, soil, pipe, construction materials and debris. Trains in the operation
of heavier equipment such as front end loaders, self-propelled belt loaders, steel wheel and
pneumatic rollers, specialized mowers, asphalt kettle patching machine, and backhoes. Trains to
operate a standard dump truck with snow plow attachment and sand spreader to remove snow
and ice from highways and bridges. Performs other related job duties as requested or assigned by
supervisor. Works as required during hazardous weather and/or other emergencies.
