Requirements:

A 10th grade education; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.

Job Description:

Replaces missing signs and damaged signs; erects new signs; paint and repairs old signs. Trains to operate standard dump truck with snow plow attachment and sand spreader to remove snow and ice from highways and bridges. Assists in the placement of pavement markings such as stop bars, arrows, crosswalks, and railroad crossings or thermoplastic according to state specifications. Trains in the operation of a standard dump truck. Flags traffic during road repairs and maintenance operations to control the flow of traffic and to assist the general public. Performs related duties as needed. Conducts and documents pre-operation vehicle or equipment inspection. Operates and maintains electric/gas powered tools in various phases of roadway maintenance. Removes litter, debris and dead animals from roadway and rights-ofway. This position requires employee to lift heavy objects.
