Trains to operate 5 yard dump truck, and flatbed trucks for hauling materials such as asphalt, limestone, dirt, soil, cement, pipe, construction materials and debris. Performs duties using manual labor, in such maintenance task as clearing of right-of-ways, cleaning drainage ditches, repairing shoulders, patching potholes, making base repairs, repairing bridges, paving driveways, and laying sideline/cross line pipe. Flags traffic during road repairs to control flow of traffic to protect workers, general public and equipment. Trains in the operation of heavier equipment such as tandem dump trucks, front end loaders, self-propelled belt loaders, steel wheel and pneumatic rollers, motor graders, specialized mowers and backhoes. Performs other related job duties as requested or assigned by supervisor. Operates chain saw in the removal of trees from right-of-way. Trains to operate standard dump truck with snow plow attachment and sand spreader to remove snow and ice.
