Requirements:

Minimum: A high school diploma and experience in information technology, electronics technology systems, or other related areas. An associate's degree or bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience.

AdditionalKnowledge of WAN/LAN design concepts and best practices.  Applied knowledge in the configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewall and other network devices.  Applied knowledge of WAN/LAN security, intrusion detection concepts, and best practices.  Experience with Microsoft, Linux, and other TCP/IP related operating systems.  Familiarity with VPN, VoIP, wireless networking, and streaming video technologies.  Must possess strong communication, problem solving, and network diagramming skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: An associate degree and two years of experience in information technology, electronics technology systems, or other related areas.  Experience with Palo Alto and Cisco/Meraki products.  Experience with fiber optic installation, splicing, testing and maintenance, and Industry-recognized certifications are desired.

Job Description:

Provides analysis, design, installation, configuration, maintenance, optimization and documentation support for network devices including, but not limited to, routers, switches, wireless access points, network monitoring equipment, and related software. Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving moderate to complex network issues. Establishes and maintains contact with vendors and customers for support and problem resolution. Provides monitoring of telecommunications and/or network systems to include problem analysis, tracking and resolution. Applies simple to moderately complex state-of-the-art technology to meet and improve network operations. Assists in documenting information for telecommunications and/or networking systems changes and/or procedures. Maintains record keeping of network equipment service contacts, warranties and preventative maintenance schedules.
