Physical Requirement/Working Conditions

Walking or standing up to eighty percent of the work time. Subject to frequent interruptions. Subject to frequent changes in priority of duties though out the day. The Phlebotomist is responsible for obtaining specimens used in the provision of clinical laboratory services for the purpose of achieving definite therapeutic outcomes that improve patient care. Clinical laboratory practice involves the process through which a phlebotomist works with other health care professionals to design, implement and monitor a therapeutic plan that will produce specific therapeutic outcomes for the patient. Through these actions, the Laboratory Department supports the overall goals of the hospital, and improves the health and well-being of the patient.
