A 10th grade education and three and one-half (3.5) years of work experience that involved the independent performance of job dutise directly related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence with State Human Resources Regulations.
Repairs and troubleshoots high pressure pumps, rams and lifts. Inspects new trucks, installs dump and platform bodies. Repairs aerial bucket trucks and drill rigs. Performs acetylene and electric welding as required. Rebuilds automatic and manual transmissions. Completely diagnoses, disassembles, inspects, measures and reassembles as required. Diagnoses and repairs all fuel, electrical systems and engine control components for gasoline and diesel powered equipment. Overhauls and rebuilds engine. Replaces rods, crankshafts, cam bearings,and more. Conducts preventive maintenance and safety inspections on air brakes systems. Picks up and delivers equipment to other facilities. Assists outside shops with technical advice. Performs other general mechanical duties as required to accomplish the equipment depot's mission.
