Wages/Salary: $31,805.00 - $58,848.00 Annually
A bachelor's degree and two (2) years of work experience in occupational safety and health programs; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
Performs periodic shop, yard, building, work zone, equipment, environmental, inspections to ensure compliance with appropriate state and federal health, safety and environmental regulations. Conducts unannounced SCDOT work crew inspections. Instructs unit employees in required health and safety courses including but not limited to CPR, First Aid, New Employee Safety Orientation, Flagger, Blood Borne Pathogen, Split Rim, and Hazard Communications.Plans and conducts monthly safety meetings. Advises organizational leadership of uncorrected safety deficiencies and recommends methods for correction. Monitors organizational unit CDL operations for compliance with Federal State and Agency requirements. Assists with CDL training. Investigates injuries and vehicle equipment accidents to determine cause and make recommendation for improving safety and accident prevention in the future. Prepares and issues appropriate inspection reports. Performs other related job duties
