Minimum and Additional Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year general maintenance experience.
Additional Requirements:
1) Position requires medium to heavy lifting, walking, and standing on uneven terrain, crawling, and working at heights. Exposure to weather conditions, cleaning agents, and other materials used in maintaining park facilities and grounds.
2) Ability to read and understand written procedures and directions; ability to perform simple arithmetic computations. Ability to operate a variety of power tools.
3) Must possess a valid South Carolina Driver's License.
Job Responsibilities
Lake Greenwood State Park is known locally as the host site for the South Carolina Festival of Flowers Triathlon held each June. In addition to hosting the annual triathlon, the park provides year-round opportunities for excellent South Carolina bass fishing, boating, and offers shoreline campsites and nature trails.
Job Purpose and Duties:
Performs duties necessary for maintenance and upkeep of state parks including repair and construction of facilities, operation and repair of motorized equipment, grounds keeping, and landscaping activities. Assists with the administration and the operation of a state park. Assists park visitors.
1) Performs miscellaneous repairs and park improvements, to include carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing, landscaping and grounds keeping.
2) Performs and directs clean-up and housekeeping activities to assure the attractiveness, cleanliness and safety of park grounds and facilities.
3) Assists with operation of the park by registering campers, completing related forms and reports. Collects and accounts for revenue, perform routine patrol, working in retail sales area.
4) Repairs and maintains motorized equipment. Performs preventive maintenance on facilities and equipment. Keeps maintenance records.
5) Performs landscaping and grounds keeping duties, and ensures all park grounds are kept in accordance with established standards.
6) Assists in planning scheduling , and executing maintenance projects utilizing the the park's maintenance program.
7) Practice and promote teamwork within the work unit/office, throughout the agency and with external agency stakeholders. Represents office as an active member on agency teams assigned throughout the year.

Full-time, 40 hours per week rotating schedule including weekends and holidays.
