MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and five (5) years of experience in the modification and maintenance of system programs, the design and development of system software or the testing and debugging of system software; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
Experience with Windows Server administration.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with Script Logic Secure Copy and Security Explorer and other data management tools in a SAN environment.
Experience with analyzing and organizing the data structure in a SAN environment.
Acts as primary administrator for backup and restoration of SCDOT's server and data
environment. Uses Veritas, EMS, Quantum and Microsoft hardware and software products to ensure backup and recovery of servers and data across multiple data centers. Acts as primary administrator for SCDOT's Storage Area Network (SAN). Uses and administers Storage Central and Microsoft software tools to manage terabytes of SAN data. Configures and administers Dell/EMC utilities to manage the SAN servers, physical disk and SAN switches. Ensures accurate systems schematics and documentation on all SAN connections, including network,electrical, and fiber switches. Acts as assistant administrator of SCDOT's synchronization of primary and secondary data centers to ensure secondary data center availability in the event of a disaster. Acts as primary administrator of SCDOT's Websense environment, including the deployment, configuration and reporting of Websense to restrict and monitor Internet usage statewide. Acts as assistant administrator of SCDOT's centralized PC's management platforms to include Microsofts Configuration Management Server.
