Requirements:
  • Associates degree in Mechanical Technology, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Drafting, Technical Writing, etc.
  • 1 to 3 years technical writing experience   
  • 1+ years experience modeling components and complex assemblies with 3D CAD software
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and publishing software(s)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude (Automotive, industrial machinery, hydraulics, etc.)   
  • 3 or more years of experience using SolidWorks CAD software
  • Confident, articulate, and professional communication abilities (Written and verbal)
  • 3 or more years of technical writing experience
  • 1+ years experience utilizing MRP software(s), setting up product configurations, and processing ECNs
Job Description:
  • Selects drawings, sketches, 3D images, diagrams, pictures and charts to create manuals
  • Uses 3D CAD modeling software to create images for use in instructions or other marketing materials
  • Organizes materials and writes documents according to company standards and terminologies
  • Assists Customer Service with complex technical questions for application and estimate inquiries
  • Follows departmental procedures to process Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and officially release updated design data in both MRP and Document Control systems
  • Reviews existing published materials and performs revisions to scope, content and format
  • Communicates directly with both internal and external customers to clearly define and document technical product functions and service procedures
  • Adheres to company safety procedures and 5S housekeeping policies
  • Performs other tasks within the Engineering & Service departments as assigned by manager
