Minimum Requirements: The University Bus Driver is required to have a Class III Certified Driver's License and safe driving history. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics. A drug test and physical assessment will also be required.
Description: The University Bus Driver is responsible for safely operating the bus according to a set daily schedule while obeying laws, regulations and rules of conduct. Must ensure that the bus is in good operating condition at all times, pick up and drop off students as per the schedule, assist students when necessary, and maintain order and security on the bus. It is critical for University Bus Driver to operate the bus in a safe manner, including during seasons of extreme cold, heat and occasional snowy conditions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to sit for long periods and maintain intense concentration particularly in poor driving conditions. Ability to work in different weather conditions including extreme cold, extreme heat, and occasional snowy weather. Knowledge of highway and University bus regulation, scheduling system and procedures, record keeping system and equipment cleaning standards and procedures. Ability to operate the bus in a safe and responsible manner. Good decision making, stress management, time management and communication skills. Ability to use Lander desk computer and e-mail as required. Ability to interact well with members of the University community and maintain daily records.
Work Hours per Week: Varied Up to 25
