A valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License are available.
Train to operate 5 yard dump truck hauling rock, dirt, pipe, and sand to job site from the maintenance shed or vendor. Hauls equipment to and from job site. Performs preventive maintenance on truck and trailer each day and keep in good operating condition. Ensures all loads are covered with a tarp and all loose material swept from tailgate and running boards. Trains in installing driveways, pulling shoulders, and cleaning drainage ditches. Works with shovel to clean drainage pipes and level out bed of ditch. Job site will be cleaned up of debris and all tools and excess material loaded onto truck. Trains in flagging traffic for the protection of crew and motoring public according to training and standards set. Assists with setting up traffic control devices and signing as set forth in the South Carolina Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Picks up debris and litter off of shoulder of roadway. Cuts and removes dead trees with a chain saw that are blocking view or that are hazardous. Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor or crew leader. Trains to operate 5 yard with spreader during ice and snow storm.
