Trains to operate a tandem or 5-yard dump truck for hauling materials including asphalt, limestone, dirt, soil, cement, pipe, construction materials and debris. Performs manual labor in
building catch basins, pouring concrete for curbs and raised medians, laying pipe for driveways
and other drainage structures, repairing shoulders, clearing right-of-ways and repairing bridges.
Flags traffic during road repairs to control flow of traffic to protect workers, general public and
equipment. Operates a chain saw in cutting trees on right-of-way. Assists in emergency
operations when crew is in an " On Call" status after hours, weekends, and holidays for all road
emergencies including inclement weather, snow and ice or hazardous road conditions. Trains in
the operation of compressors, concrete mixers, jackhammers and trailer-mounted pipe cleaner.
Trains in the operation of a back hoe in cleaning ditches and placing pipe. Trains in the
operation of heavy equipment including front end loaders, motorgraders and specialized mowers.
Conducts and documents pre-operation vehicles/equipment inspection. Performs other related
job duties as requested or assigned by supervisor.
