Flags traffic during road repairs to control flow of traffic to protect workers, general public and equipment. Performs duties using manual labor, in such maintenance task as clearing of rightof-ways, cleaning drainage ditches, repairing shoulders, patching potholes, making base repairs, repair to bridges, paving driveways, and laying sideline/cross line pipes. Trains in the operation of 5 yard standard dump truck, and flatbed trucks for hauling materials such as asphalt, limestone, dirt, soil, cement, pipe, construction materials and debris. Trains in the operation of heavier equipment including tandem dump trucks, front-end loaders, self-propelled belt loaders, steel wheel and pneumatic rollers, motor graders, specialized mowers and backhoes. Performs other related job duties as requested or assigned by supervisor. Trains in the operation standard dump truck with snow plow attachment and sand spreader to remove snow and ice from highways and bridges.
