A 10th grade education and five and one-half (5.5) years of related trades experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid Class ?A? Devises a schedule for work to be performed by maintenance crew. Acts as a lead worker of a crew engaged in ditching, shoulder, and grading operations. Conducts safety inspection on all assigned vehicles and equipment. Sets up traffic control according to SCMUTCD standards to warn motorist of road work ahead. Assumes supervisor's duties and responsibilites during their absence. Operates tractor mounted ditcher in ditching operations throughout the county. Instructs crew members daily in safety practices such as flagging operations, wearing of safety equipment, vehicle safety, or when working with hazardous material and waste. Produces daily records of work performed and materials used, records such as HMMS and the maintenance requests and complaints forms. Operates large motor graders in ditching, shoulder operations, grading machining roads, driveway installation or snow and ice removal. Operates truck mounted plows and sand spreaders in snow and ice removal as necessary. Performs related duties as requested or assigned by supervisor.
