A 10th education and three and one-half (3.5) years of related trades experience; or an
approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid
Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License within six (6) months of placement in the position.
However, applicants without a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License will be considered if
no qualified applicants with a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License are available.
Serves as lead person of a sign erection crew in the installation of new signs and responsible for
the replacement of existing signs. Keeps inventory of signs in stock and for future needs if signs
and necessary related materials. Assists with compliance of daily paperwork of signs erected or
repaired and completes daily work report. Enters this information in HMMS on the computer.
Operates dump trucks and sign truck as needed during normal operations. Weedeats around
signs ahead of mowing crew. Operates a dump truck with snow plow or sand spreader during
ice and snow. Performs miscellaneous duties as required and requested by supervisor. Operates
chain saw to clear trees and limbs off road and right-of-way. Act as back-up driver for asphalt
distributor that delivers emulsion district wide for patching operations. Performs duties in
erecting and maintaining barricades for detours on any roads as necessary.
