Wages/Salary: $22,182.00 - $41,046.00 - Annually
A 10th grade education and three and one-half (3.5) years of related trades experience; or anapproved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.
Supervises a crew of up to five (5) inmates using hand and power tools to perform various tasks including but not limited to litter cleanup, hand trimming, bridge and right-of-way clean up on I-26 and other routes with Newberry County. Performs duties for normal daily operations such as flagging, workzone setup and takedown, follow vehicle driving, and small power tool operation. When no inmates are available, by hand or by machine, assists in paving driveways, patching potholes, leveling roadways, and laying pipe as necessary. Performs duties for standby crew rotation, emergencies, snow-ice, and equipment operations requiring right-of-way debris removal and other emergencies. Performs other related duties as required.
