A high school diploma and four and one-half (4.5) years of related trades experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL). (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. However, qualified applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's license will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.
A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required within six (6) months of placement in the position.
Supervises and inspects work including ditching, machining shoulders, patching, laying pipe and paving driveways and entrances. Supervises crew of maintenance workers in digging out and backfilling bad areas in roadways in preparation for resurfacing and skim patching. Supervises crew in pouring of concrete sidewalks, curbs and gutters, driveways, and catch basins. Supervises and ensures a safe work zone for maintenance crew, as in flagging operations, wearing of safety equipment, vehicle safety, or when working with hazardous materials and waste. Supervises and coordinates crew in the removal of snow and ice from roadways and storm damage. Performs other job related duties, including on call for after hour emergencies.
Performs annual EPMS evaluations on subordinate employees. Inspects roadways for
deficiencies in shoulders, roadway surface, vegetation, and drainage during routine day and night inspections throughout the year. Acts as the instructor for American Red Cross First Aid and CPR training for all employees in Greenwood Maintenance.
