PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to understand and follow routine oral and written instructions. Must be physically able to work off of a ladder, safely move furniture, relocate offices, and set up tables and chairs. Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as buffing machine, wet vacuum, shampoo machine, and carpet vacuum. Heavy lifting is involved on a regular basis. Must have ability to interact with Utilities crew, students, faculty, staff and the University community regularly. Extensive physical activity. Ability to lift over 50 pounds. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions.
Working in a team environment the Utilities Mover serves as a member of the Utilities Crew. Responsible for transporting furniture, office equipment and related items within the University campus and off campus as needed. Locates and relocates desks, chairs, tables, bookcases and other office equipment and furniture for event set-up. Provides support for cleaning and waxing floors. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
