Minimum Requirements: Moving experience. A valid driver's license and safe driving history are required. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics.
Preferred Requirements: Work Ready SC Career Readiness Certificate.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to understand and follow routine oral and written instructions. Must be physically able to work off of a ladder, safely move furniture, relocate offices, and setup tables and chairs. Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as buffing machine, wet vacuum, shampoo machine, and carpet vacuum. Heavy lifting is involved on a regular basis. Must have ability to interact with Utilities crew, students, faculty, staff and the University community regularly.
The Utilities Specialist serves as a member of the Utilities Crew. Responsible for transporting furniture, office equipment and related items within the University campus and off campus as needed. Locates and relocates desks, chairs, tables, bookcases and other office equipment and furniture for event set-up. Provides support for cleaning and waxing floors. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Position Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
