The Building Construction Technology (BCT) Department at Piedmont Technical College recently purchased a mini excavator with the help of federal Perkins money. “This will be a great training tool for the students because this is the type of equipment they will be using when they go out on the job site,” said Bobby Roche, program director for BCT. “Without the tools, you can’t teach effectively.” Pictured with the excavator are, from left: Chad Teague, director of facilities management; Tucker Threlkeld of Ninety Six; Dr. Jack Bagwell, vice president for academic affairs; Kim Cox, grants accountant; Gail Carruth, accounts payable accountant; Caroline Chappell, grants administrator; Tara Lindley, BCT instructor; Bruce Tolbert, BCT instructor; and Kenneth McDaniel of Newberry.
