Tau Alpha Pi Inducts New Members

Eleven new members were recently inducted into the Tau Alpha Pi National Honor Society at Piedmont Technical College. Tau Alpha Pi is the national honor society for engineering technology, just as Phi Beta Kappa is for liberal arts and Tau Beta Pi is for engineering. Founded in 1953 and managed for more than 30 years by engineering technology educator Frederick J. Berger, Tau Alpha Pi is open to both associate degree and baccalaureate candidates.

Inductees were Jason Allen, electronic engineering technology (EET) student from Waterloo; Joseph Bradley, EET student from Saluda; Brandi Esco, engineering graphics technology (EGT) student from Abbeville; Elizabeth Graham, EGT student from Greenwood; Thomas Hackett, EGT student from Greenwood; Julia Hale, EET student from Fountain Inn; James Igleheart, mechanical engineering technology (MET) student from Greenwood; Justin Rice, EGT student from Greenwood; David Sorrow, EGT student from Abbeville; Patrick Williamson, EET student from Ninety Six; and Joshua Wooten, EET student from Greenwood.

Tau Alpha Pi is open by invitation only to the top four percent of an institution’s total engineering technology enrollment. Piedmont Tech’s Eta chapter began in 1995 and is one of only three chapters in the state.
