This course is designed for individuals with little or no riding experience. As the title suggests, this class teaches the basic techniques of riding a motorcycle. The course consists of MSF Online class and 12-hours of practical application (riding). Students will ride small (100-350cc) training motorcycles provided by SC Rider Education. Students must pass both a written and riding assessment to receive a completion certificate. All others will receive a certificate of attendance. Motorcycling requires physical and mental skills that people learn at different rates. Therefore, our measure of success in this course is that you have a good learning experience while having fun. This course meets the standards set by SC law for an insurance discount.
Successful completion of the Basic Motorcycle Class qualifies you for a waiver on the SCDMV motorcycle license test. Classes take place rain or shine, with rare exceptions made when lightning or other severe weather conditions create a hazard to students.
