This workshop is a two-day, 14-hour training that offers participants the opportunity to learn and apply SPC. SPC is used to help manufacturers better understand processes and the associated sources of variation. SPC tracks variation within production and provides data for decision making. Correct use of SPC can help operators determine, and eliminate, special causes of variation to make processes stable and therefore predictable. A predictable process can be evaluated against customer requirements and determine if process is capable of meeting requirements or identifying as needing improvement. Monitoring and controlling processes with SPC can ensure conformance to customer requirements. The objectives of this workshop are to teach participants to: • Understand why control charts are an essential tool to understand variation. • Apply SPC charts to monitor and control processes. • Evaluate capability of a process and calculate capability indexes. • Calculate % out of specification using the standard normal distribution table.
