MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma + 1 yr work experience in child care programs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education with one year full-time experience in a NAEYC accredited child development center and an understanding of developmentally appropriate practice.

Job Description:

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES


In this challenging role, you will support the Child Development Center at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following:


-Assist lead teacher in the Toddler classroom (12-24 month old) to provide children with a developmentally appropriate learning environment at our NAEYC accredited CDC that will help them develop socially, intellectually, physically, and emotionally.

-Assist lead teacher with curriculum planning to include the development of lesson plans, classroom arrangement, and the enhancement of the classroom.

-Supervise the classroom and direct classroom activities.

-Facilitate a variety of learning experiences where children can manipulate and explore a variety of materials and experience success.

-Gather necessary supplies and materials ahead of time.

-Guide children in the proper care of materials.

-Act as a positive role model.

-Observe and record children's behavior, as directed.

-Use appropriate transition techniques.

-Promote children's learning by supporting children's ideas and progressive skill development.

-Other duties, as assigned.
