Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Bachelor's degree; or an Associate degree + 2 yrs relevant experience; or a HS diploma + 4 yrs relevant experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

-Financial Aid experience

-Experience with Ellucian Colleague and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

-Experience working in a customer facing role or call center

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-Professional, upbeat, social, and dependable

-Ability to make evaluative judgment, analyze detailed information, and solve problems.

-Self-motivated and able to balance multiple tasks simultaneously among changing priorities and deadlines.

Job Description:

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

In this challenging role, you will support the Financial Aid department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following:

-Verification Processing:

      Process federal, state, and institutional financial aid applications and related verification documentation for selected students at GTC in accordance with federal, state, and college regulations. Ensure compliance with laws, regulations,
accreditation standards, and professional guidelines regarding financial aid.


      Access, organize, and work from internal electronic work flow organizational system and electronically formatted forms.

      Record thorough and accurate documentation on student accounts in the Colleague system. Assess the status and progress of student file information. Complete and submit files for audit in an efficient manner.

      Resolve outstanding file issues and communicate to students when necessary. Provide updates to the Financial Aid Manager on the status of outstanding students.

-Customer Service & Communications Management:

      Assist with switchboard operations for the office. Sign into the departmental phone queue, answer incoming calls in a polite, respectful, and upbeat fashion. Troubleshoot student accounts regarding financial aid questions, transfer to outside departments if necessary. Respond to voicemails and assist with outgoing call campaigns when necessary.

      Responsible for managing the Financial Aid office email account. Respond to students, parents, faculty/staff by the assigned time frame or assign to other staff as appropriate.

      Manage responses and postings for the financial aid office Facebook and other social media accounts with proper grammar and professional business etiquette.

      Assist with direct customer service and/or Self Service location(s).

      Assist with other communication related activities and projects as assigned.

-External Scholarship Management:

      Manage external, Greenville County, and GTC Foundation Scholarship programs.

      Receive funds via postal or electronic mail. Log into the Colleague system on a per student basis. Maintain detailed and accurate records of account as verified through Fund Management, confirm receipt of and communicate with donor if applicable.

      Work with Business Office management and staff to ensure proper reconciliation of funds.

-Prepare and conduct financial aid presentations and workshops:

      Become familiar with various financial aid programs and be able to present information about these programs to the public both on and off campus. Review presentation materials on a regular basis to ensure accuracy. Make improvements to the presentations and workshops as needed to ensure their effectiveness.

-Other duties as assigned.
