A bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline and two (2) years of applied work experience with high-level or object-oriented programming languages; or an associate's degree in computer science or related discipline and four (4) years of applied work experience with high-level or object-oriented programming languages; or a high school diploma and six (6) years of applied work experience with high-level or object-oriented programming languages. Applied work experience with Visual Basic.NET or C#.NET programming languages. Experience developing web applications using ASP.NET. Experience using Structured Query Language, XML, and stored procedures within a Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 environment. Experience with Visual Basic, Visual C#, ASP, VBScript and/or Java Script.
Designs, codes, tests and debugs new and existing web-centric applications using high-level programming languages and enterprise-class database tools. Performs in-depth analysis on new and existing applications. Consults and coordinates with customers and other IT staff throughout the entire software development lifecycle to ensure the suitability of the application to the specified need. Prepares and maintains operational and system-level documentation based on internal and industry standards and conventions. Adheres to the established OIT policies, procedures, and practices in the performance of assigned duties. Proactively performs maintenance on existing applications. Responds to end-user requests for support. Keeps management apprised of project status. Serves as a technical resource for other members of the IT staff. Performs other related duties as required.
