Students must be currently enrolled in and pursuing an Associates? degree in Engineering Technology with an emphasis in Civil Engineering or Engineering Drafting/Graphics. Must have familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3-D. Applicant must be willing to commit to a 3-month summer work schedule and possible flexibility in part-time role while attending school. The position is available in Columbia. A minimum 2.5 GPA is required. Candidates must meet the requirements of the SCANA Co-Op Program.
Students may perform a variety of duties related to the design and engineering of electric transmission systems. Duties may include assisting electric transmission design engineers with their daily tasks, working with survey crews to collect field data necessary to support the design process, and utilizing AutoCAD and Civil 3-D to create, update, and modify design drawings. In addition, students will develop familiarity with the processes and systems used to convert raw field data to finished designs as well as familiarity with developing permit drawings and Right of Way drawings. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3-D, and Microsoft Office products is essential as well as the ability to learn new software applications used in the design and project management process. Students must be able follow corporate safety rules and be available to work after hours and scheduled overtime as required.
