Requirements:

A high school diploma and two (2) years of experience that is directly related related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid motor vehicle operator's license. May be required to work overtime, nights, weekends or holidays, and during inclement weather or other emergencies.

Job Description:

Under general supervision of Engineer/Associate Engineer I, performs skilled technical duties. Meets with property owners and utility company representatives concerning work performed under permit on right of way. Performs encroachment permit inspections and driveway inspection, ensuring that SCDOT requirements are met and sound engineering principles are used. Reviews and recommends encroachment permits for approval. Assists Resident Maintenance Engineer and Assistant Resident Maintenance Engineers as necessary in staking right of ways, taking roadway measurements, and completing special projects. Performs other related duties as necessary.
